Is this going to be the most fun you’ll have this summer?

Remember festivals? Remember going out and there being people? Remember live music? And drinks? And dancing? And dressing up? And other people dressing up a whole lot more than you’re ever going to be dressing up? Remember sexiness and laughter and drunkeness and sweatiness and... What we’re trying to say is, do you remember Mighty Hoopla?

Clearly, scientifically, morally and historically the most fun anyone can have, Mighty Hoopla is the one-day inner-city festival that brings bearded ladies, femmy boys, unashamedly poptastic pop stars and regular gay men together for a fiesta of fun in London’s glittering Brixton. Well, Brockwell Park, so Brixton-adjacent.

And not only have tickets just gone on sale for the event that takes over the whole of Saturday 4th September (so you can have a day of recovery before you go back to work. Remember work?), they have also announced what is known in the festival business as the line-up. And it ain’t half bad.

Now, we’re going to go in order of our preference not theirs so we’re starting with En Vogue and Gabrielle. And Jimmy Somerville, which is very It’s A Sin, if you ask us. Then there’s Betty Boo, hot off Edina Monsoon’s catwalk, RAYE, Atomic Kitten, presumably without the mad one, Naked Boys Reading (we like naked boys whatever they’re doing), Guilty Pleasures, Becky Hill, Sonique. Oh and someone called Cheryl, who we seem to remember has a big nasty red rash all down her back, so don’t mention that.
