Do Amsterdam Pride the Pulitzer Way

Every Pride is unique but there’s no getting away from the fact that Amsterdam Pride is pretty spectacular and that’s because instead of the Parade - or March or whatever you want to call it - winding its way through the streets of the city, in Amsterdam it winds its way along the canals.

Yep, people line the canals and watch the floats - actually floating floats - as they file past. Ingenious! And if you’re wondering how you get a float under one of those low-rise little Amsterdam bridges, they are designed to collapse as they approach. So there may be drag queens dancing, palm trees swaying, DJs on podiums, but as a bridge comes close, it all goes down… and then comes back up again.

And when we say people line the canals, obviously if you were being really clever - and we’re being really clever! - you bag yourself a room at one of Amsterdam’s coolest hotels, The Pulitzer, and you get yourself a spot on their Pride Deck. So you’re there, not in the crowds but on a platform, watching the parade with something delicious in your hand. We were thinking a drink.

As for the hotel itself… an absolute stunner. Just look at the pictures in the gallery below if you don’t believe us.
