A whirl-wind trip around the whirl with Wes Anderson

You know Wes Anderson. Course you do. The film-maker behind such surreal movies as The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was voted one of the greatest films since 2000 in a poll done by the BBC. So he’s officially good. Ask anyone.

Well, taking a break from making eccentric movies with their unique visual and narrative styles (and we’re quoting direct from Wikipedia here, so there is no room for argument), he has teamed up with one of our favourite London hotels, One Hundred Shoreditch (remember the roof party? Remember the Seed Library drinks?) to create a fully immersive 3D Halloween Wes Anderson room takeover-type thing in the Oriel Room to promote his new postcard book, called Accidentally Wes Anderson.

And there’s a party – TONIGHT! – to go with it! Live DJs (as opposed to ‘recently deceased DJs’?), cocktails inspired by Wes Anderson movies including a French 75 Dispatch cocktail on arrival and encouragement to come in full Wes Anderson drag/fancy dress, what with it being Halloween weekend and all. Fur coat and no knickers should cover it.

It all happens at, you guessed it, One Hundred Shoreditch, up on the roof where we have partied like it was 1976 on many an occasion. And obviously, you’ll want to experience the, erm, ‘experience’ itself, which is on for 17 days from today and which will take you on a city-hopping trip around the world from Tokyo to Ohio. And if you love it (we think you might love it), you can buy the postcard book or a print from gallery The Old Bank Vault.

We think that’s everything…
