JAKE THEATRE TAKEOVER

DIARY OF A SOMEBODY by JOHN LAHR

BASED ON JOE ORTON’S EXPLICIT DIARIES

*WARNING! CONTAINS NUDITY*

‘Perversely enjoyable’. Does that sound like our kind of thing? Well, it is!

Written by John Lahr and based on the diaries of outrageous gay playwright Joe Orton, Diary of a Somebody gets its first airing in 35 years, having premiered at the National Theatre in the 80s.

Starring George Kemp of Bridgerton and Call My Agent as Joe and Game of Thrones’ Toby Osmond as his boyfriend Kenneth Halliwell, Diary of a Somebody is, by turns, hilariously anarchic, darkly disturbing, explicitly sexual and wittier than Karen from Will & Grace on top form.

Join us for a full theatre takeover with a complimentary glass of Prosecco before the show and a special deal on Prosecco for the after party where we will be joined by members of the cast for an exclusive informal chit chat.

‘The year is 1966. A shabby bedsit in Angel. Joe Orton, who lives with his lover Kenneth Halliwell, is becoming the most successful young playwright in Britain. His West End hit Loot is voted play of the year. His work is adapted for TV. The Beatles demand that he write their new movie…. In 8 months he'll be brutally murdered by the person closest to him.’
